Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is defined as a behavioral syndrome that begins in childhood and is diagnosed in people who are at developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention or hyperactivity with deficits in adaptive functioning at home, school or in social situations (U.S. Department of Education, 2008). This paper identifies the disorder known as Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder. The causes, prevalence, and treatment characteristics are all discussed.
