Women in the Workforce
Over the past few years, economic changes have occurred and there continues to be an increase of women in the workforce. Additionally, these changes have made it virtually impossible for families to have one parent stay home. While each family is different, so are the number of jobs and variance in salaries. With this in mind, two incomes today are a must to maintain a certain lifestyle.
According to Cascio (2013) the following five key elements to the change of women in the workforce include:
(1) family changes,
(2) more women graduating from college,
(3) women have realized they can do more tasks than just stay at home with the children,
(4) technology advances, and
(5) financial reasons (pp. 155-156).
Please share your thoughts and provide some examples from the different workplace environments that you are familiar with.
