Transfer of Training
With the many types of training that is offered by organizations, it is necessary that the training provided to employees is current and relevant to one’s current position to ensure effectiveness. With this in mind, some of the advice given by Cascio (2013) regarding transfer of training include: “Maximize the similarity between the training situation and the job situation […] Provide a strong link between training content and job content […] [ensure that in] teams have open, unrestricted access to information […and] ensure that what is learned in training is used and rewarded on the job” (p.326).
