The subject of career management is important as this is what is both beneficial and necessary to assist with those who are new to the working environment, as well as the seasoned employees. Additionally, although not always provided, when organizations do assign mentors, they must ensure that the individuals who are chosen to fulfill the responsibility as mentors fully understand their role and that they are committed to their task of decreasing their mentee’s learning curve, while providing great value to the mentee’s overall learning process. Mentors have the responsibility of being available to act as sounding boards and to provide their wisdom, feedback, and insight when it is needed most. Furthermore, depending on the specific organization and the job duties that are assigned, this may be a very demanding role. Nevertheless, the responsibility of the mentor is important to the success of an organizations ability to effectively provide career management for their employees.
