About the Download

If one where wanting to compare means of two populations and the population standard deviation is unknown, our text (Lind, 2008) offers two t-tests to determine if the means are equal. The “Pooled t-test” is used when the standard deviations are equal (or assumed to be equal) and equations [11-7] and [11-8] are used to compare the means of two populations with unknown and unequal standard deviations.
Generate two small populations and determine if the means of two populations have equal means. Choose from either pooled variance or unequal variance as the approach. Use either MegaStat or the Data Analysis Toolpak to perform the calculations and attach the Excel file to your response.
