have so far. I added our selected portions below and per our professors question, we need to select .01 or .05, I would say go with .05
Null (verbal) H0: Neither increased or decreased civilian-life violence is experienced by individuals living with PTSD.
Alternative (verbal) Ha: Increased civilian-life violence is experienced by individuals living with PTSD.
Numerical formula:
H0: mu1=mu2ย ย  which translates to: the mean rate of civilian-life violence experiences in the PTSD group equals the mean rate of civilian-live violence experiences in the non-PTSD group.
Ha: mu1>mu2ย ย  mean rate of PTSD group is more than mean rate of non-PTSD group
NOTE!!! This is a directional hypothesis because you are saying in your Ha that there is an increase in targeted behavior under study, so, this means it is a ONE TAILED hypothesis test and that will matter in your final decision making when using the z score cut off chart in the text – make sure you use the One Tailed column cut-off score. Use the book to follow the process of how to come up with the cut off score (and definitely use Khan Academy tutorials on hypothesis testing because it helps to SEE it being worked out step by step, which is what I expect to see also in the project (you can use fictional data or data from other studies to do that) – and before all of that, you need to decide what p value (decide your alpha, the amount of error you are willing to live with in the results and still be able to find support for the Ha – think about the ethics involved – which p value is more appropriate? .05 or .01? Use one of those.
Prepare a 1,050- to 1,750-word paper in which you formulate a hypothesis based on your selected research issue, problem, or opportunity. Wk 4 would be 350 words, please 3 slides per person including speaker notes (no word limit on notes)
Address the following:
Intro/Conclusion-Amber
Describe your selected research issue, problem, or opportunity-Erin
Formulate both a numerical and verbal hypothesis statement concerning your selected research issue, problem, or opportunity-Daniel
Explain how the five steps of hypothesis testing may be used to evaluate solutions for your selected research issue, problem, or opportunity-Anne
Editing/Submission-Amber/Benny
