Diversity is important in the workplace, and whether organizations are forced into being diversified by law or those in management realize the benefits and take it upon themselves to initiate diversity into the working environment, it is going to happen, one way or the other. With this in mind, it is important to take into consideration the Conflict Theory of management and how diversity can be an important ingredient.  While many people may try to avoid conflict, some conflict can actually be a good thing as it spurs innovation.  Furthermore, when organizations have a diverse group of people working together, they often tend to take longer to work out the resolution to some of the issues that may arise. However, once discussions take place and an agreement is reached, the result will often be more creative, especially since there were a variety of different view points that were shared to reach the agreement.
